Alexander Petunin: «We conceded unnecessary goals»

Neftekhimik forward Alexander Petunin speaks with the media after a following 6–3 over Barys.
– Today you beat an opponent that had just recently defeated the league leader – and by a wide margin, too. Did you have a special mindset or extra motivation going into the game?– We have the same mindset for every game: go out there and play our brand of hockey. We managed to score some timely goals today and played solid defense. The third period was a bit disappointing, though. We conceded unnecessary goals.
– That was your first goal for Neftekhimik – how did it feel?
– There is definitely a sense of relief. Not scoring had been weighing on me a bit. The guys took some good shots, and I was able to put away the rebound. It all came together simply.
– You have a tough flight ahead followed immediately by another game; could that affect the result?
– I do not think so. We are riding a wave of positive energy; if we prepare properly, everything will be fine. The team is in high spirits – we just need to get organized and fly out quickly so we have enough time to recover.
