– It is not the result we were after. There is no point crying over it – it is preseason. This tournament leads into the regular season, but we are still grinding through heavy practices, so everyone's legs are heavy right now.My goal? It is not a rocket science, we were on the power play, we moved the puck around, fed it back to the point. I saw a Lokomotiv forward in front of the goalie, so I just let it go right then. The goalie never picked it up – and it went in.
Giving up two quick goals is never fun. But you shake it off and keep playing. 68 games ahead – no time to sulk. In those moments, you do not need speeches – these guys are pros, they know their job. We just stuck to our system like nothing happened. If anything, it might have fuelled us a little inside. Either way, we battled right to the final buzzer.
