Dan Sexton and Yegor Popov speak with the media following the Neftekhimik' 3-2 shootout win against the Amur on 10/19/21.
Sexton: It was a tough game. Amur is close to us according to the standings. We did enough to win but we know, we need to play better next game.- Let’s go back to the game against Severstal, Neftekhimik tied up the game after 1-5. Did it help today in some way?
Sexton: Sure, sometime its hard after game like that one, we were down 1-5 and we tied up it. After games like that it is not easy to play next game, it is much harder than the third period against Severstal. We need to play smart and simple.
Yegor Popov: I agree with Dan. After such games it is not easy to play upcoming one, like you played in the third period the game before. We will try to do our best.
- Did the coaching staff pointed out that it was Amur’ fourth road game?
Yegor Popov: Sure. You need to take advantage of it. Somewhere we succeed, somewhere we failed.
