Neftekhimik forward Grigory Seleznyov speaks with the media after a following 5–3 over Admiral.
– We played well. We did not settle into the game right away in the first period, which explains the scoreline. But the guys handled it – we rested, got our mindset right, and won.– How physically demanding was it to play two games in 24 hours, including a seven-hour flight?
– It is our job. We try not to focus on the difficulties; we just go out on the ice and enjoy the hockey.
– We were down 0–2 after the first period, but the second period went our way. What changed?
– We calmed down a bit and let go of the emotions. Plus, we finally found our rhythm physically. That is why things worked out well.
– Were you worried at the end that the opponent might claw their way back and force overtime?
– We have a good goalie, and we work hard. We would have had the energy for overtime if needed, but we managed to win in regulation!
