Igor Fyodorov: «We could say that it was a goalpost day»

Reaktor Head Coach Igor Fyodorov speaks with the media after a following 3–2 shootout win over Loko–76.

– It is great that we won! We could say that it was a goalpost day – the puck hit the post seven times in the second period! What happened in the third period... It felt like a completely different team came to this game. I guess that speaks volumes about the depth of the opponent's lineup. Still, the guys did a great job. They took the game to a shootout, where skill decided everything. We earned four important points.

Loko–76 concedes the fewest goals in its division. How did the team manage to break down their defense?
The stats are not important to us. We need to score goals and do not concede any. We did that well in the first and second periods. The third period was another story. Honestly, I have never seen anything like that. In the third, the opponent dominated, playing actively in our zone. Again, that shows the depth of the Loko team. Thanks to this, they were fresh for two games, while fatigue was taking its toll on us. But thanks to character and dedication, we managed to secure the victory.

Reaktor scores plenty of power play goals in compare with anyone else in the league. Today's game is no exception. Can you share your recipe for successful power play?
We spend a lot of time on the power play in practice. First and foremost, good power play requires skilled players. Since we are scoring so often, it means we are moving in the right direction.
