Ilnar Misbakhov: «The guys scored some great goals»

Reaktor Head Coach Ilnar Misbakhov speaks with the media after a following 4–3 win over Irbis.
– If we break the game down period by period, what key moments would you highlight?– The guys came out today ready for battle – ready to lay it all on the line and fight for one another. I think that’s what secured the win for us. In the first period, Damir Shayakhmetov kept us in the game; he stopped everything and gave the team confidence. The guys scored some great goals. In the second period, we outplayed them in scoring chances, 6–2; we just needed to finish. We gave up a goal we shouldn’t have – one of our guys was just a step late reacting. In the third period, we were up 4–1, but a game can turn in a minute. The guys did a great job holding firm, and Shayakhmetov was excellent.
– Today, like in previous games, a lot of newcomers were making their JHL debuts. How would you rate their performance?
– It’s tough for them right now – they’re young. The transition from the Youth Hockey League (YHL) is hard, especially for the 2009-born players, but they’re doing a good job and gradually improving. We’re missing a few key players. Stolyarov was playing hurt, yet he still stepped up and delivered a timely pass. We’re also missing Shagimardanov.
