Ivan Nikolishin: «It was a good game by our team»

Neftekhimik forward Ivan Nikolishin speaks with the media after a following 1–2 loss against Avangard.
– It was a good game by our team. I think we had good momentum and created a lot of scoring chances, but we struggled with scoring. I think that is why we did not win. It is hard to win in the KHL with just one goal.
– You just joined the team. How's your communication with your teammates going?
– It is not that difficult. I met Barulin when I played in Khabarovsk, and I know Yurtaikin too, we played together before. So it was not difficult. We talked before the game, the coaching staff explained what they wanted to see, and we just tried to help each other out.
– In your opinion, what was the key moment of the game?
– I think it was the fact that we did not take advantage of our scoring chances. We had chances throughout all three periods, but, again, it is hard to win with just with one goal.
– What lessons should we learn from this game and what can we improve on for the next game?
– We need to keep the same momentum and attitude. The team was fired up, everyone was encouraging and supporting each other. We need to maintain this attitude and be more responsible, take better care of our chances, and improve our ability to take advantage of the power play.
