Joey-Christophe Muissu: «I was nervous a little bit»
27.08.2024
Reaktor foward Joey–Christophe Muissu speaks with the media after a following 2–1 win over magnitka.
– Magnitogorsk is already a favorite place for you. You recently came with the JHL team, now with the KHL team. How important do you think this tournament is?
– Still, I made my debut at the adult level. The speed is different here, and the fight for the puck is different. During the first period, I was just getting used to it, and I didn’t show my best game. But during the second and third twenty minutes, I got used to it, started to keep up the fight better, and started to create scoring chances.
– Were you very nervous before today’s game?
– I was nervous a little bit.
– How did the team meet you?
– The team is great, friendly. Everyone is for everyone.
– How important is it to prove yourself in these games in order to gain a foothold in the KHL team?
– Very important. In principle, this is what the tournament is for. You need to show your best qualities and your best game to be in the main team this season.
– Did you quickly switch from the youth team to the adult level?
– As I said earlier, I was getting used to it during the first period. During the second and third periods, the game went more or less well.
– I was sent off in the attack zone. What was the reason for that?
– I wanted to fight for the puck, but I was sent off. I accidentally touched the defender.
– A beautiful penalty shot you did.
– I haveve been using this penalty shot since school. I cannot always score, but I looked at the goaltender and decided to do it this way.
