Mark Marchinsky: «The goals are the highest and quite achievable»
27.07.2024
Reaktor forward Mark Marchinsky is a representative of the real hockey dynasty for the third generation. Apparently, the skates and helmet were prepared before birth, and the issue of reaching the ice remained only a matter of time. His start in the Youth League happened last season already during the championship. Mark spent a good season, and now, together with the Nizhnekamsk youth, is training on preseason camp.
– Mark, how did you spend your vacation?
– I arrived home in early May, to Perm, to my parents and relatives. In mid -May, I flew with my parents and younger sister to Egypt. There I began to combine good rest and preparation for the season. Then I went to Chelyabinsk to do everything that conncected with my studies. I study at the UralGUFK college, and plus I have many close friends there.
– You grew up in a hockey family, it is logical that you went to this sport. How did you first contact hockey, and who subsequently put you on skates, and gave the first impetus to the sport?
– The first thing that comes to mind, as my parents told me that I still did not know how to walk, ran in the walkers, but already with a stick and a plastic puck. Dad put me on skates, I was only 3 years old then. Well, of course, it was difficult to call skating. At the age of 5, I began to practice at Molot hockey school, Nikolai Petrovich Beloborodov was my first coach. But not everything is so simple. We lived not in Perm, where the Molot school was located, but in a very small city in Krasnokamsk with a population of about 50 thousand people. My day began early in the morning, I went to Perm with my dad - he is to work, I am for training. It almost always turned out that the training was at lunch, and all this time I was just with my dad, I slept in the back seat of the car before they took me to training. It lasted about a year, then I went to first grade, and we already moved to Perm.
– You are a pupil of Perm hockey, but for several years you spent in the Nizhnekamsk school. What was the remembered for the school in Nizhnekamsk?
– Well, in general, rather, I am a pupil of Chelyabinsk hockey, since I graduated from the Traktor hockey school. When I was in the 5th grade, dad decided that it was necessary to develop further and move to Nizhnekamsk. Because there is JHL, KHL, and in Perm at that time there was only only the VHL club. In the 5th grade, I moved to the Neftekhimik Hockey School, to the coach Lyalin Viktor Fyodorovich. He was a good mentor, he gave a lot in terms of hockey and in terms of some life advice. We played in the same team with Ilya Slepkov and Igor Borodinov. When I left, I thought we would meet in the distant future, but no, fate decided differently, a few years later we were again in the same team.
– You joined Reaktor team during the season. How did it happen that you got into the team?
– I got into Reaktor team by accident, it almost developed in Chelyabinsk, where I have played since 2019, respectively, before the beginning of last season. There, after YHL, they gave me a try–out contract, but I did not go to the main roster. Time quickly passed, it was necessary to look for a club, and it turned out that I arrived at the Reaktor. Now I am very happy that I am in this team, there is an excellent team and the coaching staff.
– The 23/24 season has become a debut for you in the JHL. What impression do you have left?
– It so happened that I came to the team, and after a few days we had already flew to Astana. There was almost no time to play with new teammates. I played the first game as wing forward, the first shifts were very exciting. After the first period, I was put in the center to Rinel Fakhrutdinov and Amir Nugmanov. We played the rest of the game well, and we went to the second game in Astana in the same line. With Amir, we played in another school in the same line, maybe some kind of "chemistry" remained. After these games, I realized that in the JHL everything is much faster and tougher, when compared with the YHL and children's school. Then, slowly, I began to get used to fast hockey. After a few games, I caught the rhythm.
– Do your dad and grandfather give you advice after games?
– Both dad and grandfather, after each game analyze the games together. In addition to dad and grandfather, I still have my uncle in hockey, and he helps to progress after each game, analyzing the games.
– You spend the beginning of the pre season on the basis of the main team. Is the spirit of the KHL felt, and how does this affect the mood and motivation of the team?
– The spirit is not felt, the responsibility is felt to the leadership and the coaching staff. There are great conditions, there are everything for a good preseason, the main thing is to word hard for 120%, get a good physical shape, and also play at the maximum in the season.
– What are you goals for the new season?
– The goals are the highest and quite achievable. First of all, these are team's results that are on the first place, individual achievements are fading into the background, the main thing is to do everything for the good of the team. It is necessary to go to the leaders, many young boys came this year, I would like to be an example for them – both on ice and in everyday life.
– What are you fond of, in addition to hockey?
– In the summer I like to go fishing. An uncle along his mother’s line is an avid fisherman, he instilled in me a love of fishing, from childhood he took me with him, and now this is my hobby. This year we traveled, caught several small zander, but let everyone go, leave only "trophy fish". I also like to read in my free time. In winter, I would like to learn to ride a snowboard, but, firstly, this is a traumatic sport, and secondly, there is no time. But in the future, I still want to stand on the board.
