Press conference «Dynamo Moscow – Neftekhimik»
Oleg Leontyev, the head coach of HC Neftekhimik:– It was a good game and good goals were scored. It was great that our team managed not to concede any goals during Dynamo 5 minute 5vs4 Power Play. We showed our character and Alexander Sudnitsin kept us in the game. Shootout is a kind of a contrast between skill of the goaltender with puck carrier’ skill. We are getting ready for the upcoming game.
– You took a timeout in the third period before the 5 on 3 Power Play. Nevertheless, there were only shots from the blue line. Is it psychology?
– I took time to give the guys a rest. I would not say that there were only shots from the blue line. It is obvious, that you have to shoot during your Power Play. There is no need to discover the continents again. We have to improve the quality of our shots. We will work on it.
– In the first shift of overtime there were 2 defensemen on the ice. Did you want to make them tired?
– Ronald Knot plays well both defensively and offensevely. He is a two-way defenseman, so it I decided to put him on the overtime line, and in the next shifts we played with two forwarads.
– Before the shootout, Neftekhimik goaltending coach was talking to Sudnitsyn a lot of. Is it something special from your coaching staff's before shootout?
– We work on shootout a lot. This is the earned point. We scout each of the shootout players from other teams.
Alexei Kudashov, the head coach of Dynamo Moscow:
– We did not take advantage of our goal-scoring chances. We did not attack enough and that is the reason why we scored only 3 goals. We had some chances later but we did not score.
