Neftekhimik Head Coach Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after a following 1–4 loss against Ak Bars.
– There were three power plays in the first period, but we scored only one goal. Then we conceded a quick goal. In the second period, we created chances, there were both 1–on–0 and 2–on–1. We need to take advantage of this chances and score goals. As trite as it may sound, it is very rare thing to win a game with one goal scored. Of course, the opponent’s class showed in certain moments. But with character and reliable play, you can play against any opponent.Ak Bars Head Coach Anvar Gatiyatulin:
– As I was told, the Tatarstan derby always has a special atmosphere, incredible intensity. If we look at the game, I am happy that we won. Probably, penalty killing takes a lot of energy. But the guys showed character, they played great. I would also like to mention our power play. Overall, it was a team win.
