Neftekhimik Head Coach Oleg Leontyev:
– It was a good game, except for the moments when we lost focus on the game. We blocked a lot of shots and helped our goaltender. There was a lot of movement, especially in the first two periods.
In principle, we worked well, created chances and confidently took the lead. But in the third period, something inexplicable happened.
I want to congratulate Sergei Shmelyov on his first goal. I also congratulate Filipp Dolganov on his first winning shootout series.
We will look for the positive, a win is a win. We are getting ready and preparing for Sibir.
Amur Head Coach Andrei Martemyanov:
– We played well in the first period. We have to give credit to the opponent. 30 blocked shots – that is worth a lot. It is clear that the team was playing from the edge. Unfortunately, we did not take advantage of scoring chances we had. But we also won a point on moral and volitional ground.
We lost in the shootout, the opponent was more skilled. I am grateful to the team for going all the way. It was tough, but the guys endured.
