Ilnar Misbakhov: «We managed to tie the game up»

Reaktor Head Coach Ilnar Misbakhov speaks with the media after a following 6–5 win over Krasnoyarskie Rysi.
–Today’s game was an entertaining one. The play went back and forth. We ended the first period level at 2–2, but the second period was a disaster – we lost it 3–1. We gave up some inexplicable counterattacks and made foolish mistakes. Everything the opposition sent toward our net went in. In the third period, trailing 5–3, we managed to tie the game up with two solid powerplay goals.Alexander Sukhanov, a youngster born in 2010, scored his first JHL goal. Congratulations to him! I hope he keeps developing this way.
With five minutes left, we failed to executea lapse here by a forward, a mistake there by a defenseman and we just fell a bit short. We were punished for it and conceded a frustrating, avoidable goal.
– What are your thoughts on the two games as a whole?
– We won yesterday’s game. Today we should have at least come away with a point but I suppose we did not earn it. The main takeaway from these two games is that the guys put in the effort and worked hard. The issue is that the team did not start today’s game the right way; we needed to come out from the first minute determined to win at any cost, but it seems we were lacking that intensity today.
– Do you mean the mindset was not quite right today?
– Exactly. We came out a bit unfocused. We conceded early on, then let the opponent break away on counterattacks and made several mistakes. That is what led to the scoring chances against us.
