Mikhail Byakin: «I wanted to score one more and I did it!»

16.10.2020

Mikhail Byakin played his second game in the KHL and scored 2 (1+1) points.

- We started well and got a 1:4 advantage. Our team conceded two goals in six minutes span due to unnecessary penalties. We tried not to let them to tie the game and won it.

 - How did you manage to play at this level without enough experience of playing in the KHL?

- I played one game before with not much time on the ice. Our coach gave me more time today. I was nervous during first shifts. After few shifts, I felt better.

- Does your surname help or not? (Ilya Byakin – his Father)

- Of course, many people like to say that I play because of my surname. Nevertheless, I try not to pay attention to it and to play hard.

- How hard was it mentally to go through the difficulties at the beginning of the season?

- I would not say that it was mentally hard. We lost some games. However, we want only to win. For us the main thing is to be focused on the upcoming games. Now we are in shape after illnesses. I think that everything will be fine.

- You scored two goals, but one goal was scored after Galuzin’ deflection. Did you get upset?

- To be honest, I did not see that Galuzin deflected the shot. Moreover, he said nothing. Nevertheless, I was not upset. On the contrary, I wanted to score one more and I did it!
