Neftekhimik lost in a shootout to Ak Bars 2-3.
Neftekhimik got a gift from Ak Bars in the first period. Two Ak Bars players went into the penalty box. Our team capitalized on this 5 on 3 power play. Yegor Popov scored first goal of the evening.
In the second period Neftekhimik scored on the 5 on 4 power play.Timur Khafizov made it 2-0.
Ak Bars scored its first goal at the last 12 minutes of the third period. At the last minutes of the third, Ak Bars got an extra-forward and tied the game up at 59:59.
Neftekhimik had a great chance to win it in overtime. Unfortunately, we did not take advantage of our power play. Later, the game went into shootout. Our team was not lucky enough to get 2 points. Nevertheless, our team got its 35th point of the season. Now Neftekhimik is on 7th place in the standings.
