Bulat Shafigullin scored first goal of the game in the second. Alexander Dergachyov doubled Neftekhimik’s lead a few minutes later. After that, Evgeny Mityakin made it 3–0. Metallurg decided to change its goaltender.

Midway through the third, Magnitogorsk scored on the power play. Five minutes later, Magnitogorsk team tied the game up.
